From 1st January 2004 all vehicles registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in the UK must either be licensed for road use or declared as being off road with a Standard Off Road Notification — SORN. The following information relating to the number of licensed or SORN'd UK Honda VF1000 models registered with the DVLA in April 2011 was provided by the Department for Transport under the Freedom of Information Act.
The 2011 figures showed that there were approximately 329 Honda VF1000 motorcycles registered in the UK, of which 128 were road legal. Of the surviving R models, 15% are the RE model, with only 4 registered RG models, of which only one was on the road in 2011. Since the last audit in 2004 there are 88 fewer VF1000 models registered in the UK.
