Another point I remember now is that with the Dave Dodge 'spin on' adaptor mod I have, it is necessary to fit a different(read shorter) oil filter as clearance is reduced between the filter and the exhaust down pipes with the adaptor fitted. I had heard that one from a Gold Wing fits, but which model/part number I have no idea. There is also a K&N replacement of the correct size, but again I don't know the part number. Can anyone enlighten me?

The filter for a CBR1000F also fits,KN 303 or Hiflo 303.Just checked, this filter also fits GL1500 and Blackbird too.I think the nut fixed on the KN filter may cause some clearance issues.Regards BIF

Good Day,
This might seem like a bit of a stupid question. Could this be used on a VF1000r to feed an oil cooler rather than plumbing it into the head. Am i correct in believing that the R does not have the same cam related problems due to the gears.

Regards

The gears just do away with the cam chain issues and dont do anything for the oil problem. The R's cams have more lift and can suffer pitted cams worse than the F models.

Could this be used to feed an oil cooler, as I believe these engines run hot and if so would there be any point.
Just thoughts, while mine is still in bits, soon to be rebuilt.

Thanks
